A Glimpse into My Year So Far..

A little life update for ya'll.. spoiler it's been crazy!

Hey ya'll this year has been a crazy one and it’s only May so let me fill you in on what’s happened.

We started this year with some exciting news! On January 4th (the day before I had to fly back to North Carolina from our Christmas trip back home to Minnesota) my sister gave birth to her little girl! I was SO EXCITED that I got to meet my niece before flying back. When I tell you she is the cutest and sweetest baby ever (I know I am biased) I mean it! She is growing so fast and I love getting the daily Snapchats of her.

In February I turned 23. I got woken up by Daisy jumping on me (a daily occurrence) and the sweetest surprise. I got to spend the day reading so of course it was an amazing day! We went out for supper and ate cake from mugs while watching the office. It doesn't get better than that.

Side note: I have somehow managed to read 19 books so far this year already… whoops. And I actually sat down and turned the pages. HOT TAKE, I don’t count listening to an audiobook as “reading a book”. It’s not the same!!! I said what I said.

Parker and I have also been working on a lot of house projects and we are so happy with how they are all turning out! We added a little banquette corner for our table because we were no longer fans of the high top table that we had previously. I wasn't a fan of having to jump up onto the chair at every meal. We are so glad we did this because we now have extra storage and more seating when we have family and friends over. We also added a little accent wall to our entryway. It needed a little something and the dark paint added the contrast that the room needed. And we painted our shutters to match the accent walls' color in the entryway.

We also finally tackled the landscape project that we have been putting off. It was a lot of hard work but thank goodness we had friends willing to help! And it is SO MUCH BETTER! We are so happy with how it turned out. Now we just need the grass to grow back…

Parker and I took a quick trip back home to Minnesota in April that was jam packed with events! From a bridal shower for my bestie, a mini bachelorette party, a family wedding, Ember's baptism, and a session! Parker got to meet Ember for the first time and she wasn’t sure what to think. It was go go go the whole time and I had the best time! It is always fun getting to see my family and friends again and be a part of the big and small moments.

We have decided it is going to be our OBX summer! We are going to have many beach and boat days and we are going to capture it all. We had our first boat day last weekend and there were some kinks... Sammy dropped his phone in the water before we even left the dock…(yes he found it) but it was overall a great day.

Most importantly and the biggest thing that happened so far this year… I am officially a FULL TIME PHOTOGRAPHER!!! I couldn't be more excited! I decided that this was the year I would take the leap and take a chance on myself. I have had so many fun sessions already and there are many more coming up I am so grateful that I get to say that I am doing what I love. Thank you to everyone who has supported me to get to his point and thank you to all of my past and current clients who chose me to capture their life moments. I am so excited to see where this year takes me. Follow me on Instagram to stay up-to-date on all things Kelsey Lynn Photography
