Sydney's UNIQUE Senior Session

This session was different than any session I have ever done. If you have been following me for a while you know that I grew up in Minnesota and moved to North Carolina almost three years ago. Well Sydney reached out to me wanting to take photos in Sioux Falls, South Dakota (only an hour and a half from where I grew up and where I have some family living now) and in Morehead City, North Carolina! I was so excited when I got that email! I responded immediately and we got to planning.

We took the South Dakota photos first when I was visiting home in the fall. We went to Arrowhead park which is one of my favorite parks in the area. We started taking photos by the pond on the lower level of the park. Once we were done there we headed to the upper level of the park to take photos by the barn and back in the tall grass. We hit the golden hour PERFECTLY! We were chatting and laughing the whole time. At the end even her pup came to join us which I will never say no to.

Her family had a trip planned to come to the beach and we met up once again to finish her session in North Carolina. We decided the perfect location would be the Oceanana Pier in Atlantic Beach. When we got to the pier we made our way down to the beach where we started the session by the water. Then we walked under the pier to get some fun shots. There was then a quick outfit change and we finished off the session on the pier looking out over the water. It was a cloudy night but we made it work. I love that she got the perfect golden hour photos and some blue hour lighting. It added great variety to her gallery.
