Fort Macon state park is one of my favorite locations in Atlantic Beach. It offers multiple backdrops in close proximity. If you wanted to have your session here we could start by taking a short walk to the beach taking photos along the way. Once we get to the beach we can do the typical beach shots but at Fort Macon there is also a line of rocks leading out into the ocean that are perfect for staggering large families or posing seniors. After we get all of the pretty shots there we can make our way back to the Fort itself. Fort Macon has beautiful brick walls and steps leading down to the inside of the fort that also make for a beautiful backdrop.
The Oceanana Pier is next on the list of beautiful locations in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. Photos with the pier off in the distance behind you, up close, under the pier, and on the pier are all great options here. With the white beach sand and dunes the options are endless.. Until we do everything listed above. With there only being a few piers left along the Crystal Coast I love having one right here on our beach to utilize as a staple landmark to remember your trip by.
You can’t come to the Atlantic Beach without stopping at The Circle! It's a really cool spot with lots of amazing places to eat, fun shops, and a pretty boardwalk perfect for taking photos. They're many great backdrops in close proximity which makes it another one of my favorite locations.
This secret (not so secret) location is one of my favorites in Atlantic Beach. The long boardwalk to a private island makes for a beautiful photo location. Although I would not recommend it for extended family sessions unless you want to be standing with the fish. The walkway is a great way to be really immersed with the area. You get to watch the marsh transition to the sound while walking to the private island.
And of course there is always the beach! You can never go wrong with a simple beach session. But, if you want to jazz it up a bit you can always bring a blanket, picnic basket, beach chair and an umbrella, or anything else that you would want to incorporate. I’m down for anything! Are you into surfing or just swimming? Let’s do it! This session is all about you, your family, or your relationship with you significant other.
