We Are Engaged!

Hey! I know it has been a while since I posted a new blog but I have been so busy in the best way.

This summer has been full of sessions with so many amazing people and I am still working on getting out all of the beautiful galleries as fast as I can. But I have some exciting news that I wanted to share!

Parker and I are engaged!! It has been a long time coming and we are so so excited! A little back story on us for those of you who don’t know. Parker and I officially met in 2018 after one of his baseball games. My bestie decided that I needed to find someone so we could go on double dates and she did just that! Long story short we have been together ever since!

The proposal was perfect!  He told me that we needed to go out to take new headshots for my business. (Which was definitely needed). This was also right after a hurricane rolled through so we were trying to find a gap in the rain. We found a 30-minute window and went for it. So we went out to the beach and he took some photos of me. Then he said that he wanted to get some video clips of us for his next project. (That’s a normal thing for us so I didn’t think anything of it). So he set up the camera on a tripod and we walked towards the water. He then wanted me to run towards him so he could pick me up and spin me. So I did that and he asked me to do it one more time. As I was walking away he got down on one knee. When I turned around and saw him my jaw hit the ground and my heart did a little flutter thing. It did again just thinking about it… (also this is a prompt that I use for my clients for surprise proposals and again literally didn't think anything of it when he asked me to do it…) I was frozen in place to he had to tell me to walk over to him. The whole time I was I kept saying “No your not” and “This isn't real”. He definitely surprised me!

Of course, I said YES when he asked me to marry him!

And that wasn’t the only surprise! He also hired one of my favorite photographers in the area to come capture it! After the proposal and we had our moment out of the corner of my eye I saw a camera and I looked over and saw Abigail. Again my jaw hit the ground. All summer I have been telling Parker that we needed to book a session with her since we have never done a professional session that wasn’t us using a tripod and there she was!! I am still dying over the photos and randomly catching myself scrolling through them again and again.

That wasn't even the end of it! As we were driving home and after Parker told me the story about how it all came to be which is always my favorite part of capturing proposals. He said there was one more surprise for me… When we turned into our cul de sac I saw our friends' cars in front of our house. When we walked in they were gathered by the door to welcome us back. They made us the best supper and we spent the night celebrating and calling our family and friends back home in Minnesota. It was the best night!!!

Thank you to everyone who reached out to congratulate us. We are so thankful for everyone in our lives <3

Time to start the wedding planning!!
